Hello lovelies & gentleman!

As you may know by now, I am from an extremely small town; and what I have learned is this: the very BEST things in life come from small towns. Period.

I used to volunteer at our last church as a youth leader, which was life changing and I highly suggest EVERYONE who is willing, to do it. Teenagers are incredible. And by doing so, I have gotten to meet some seriously wonderful kids, who are now all grown {sigh, getting older..} and doing amazing things in this world.

One of these awesome kids is now the bassist of a band that is just killing it with good vibes and great lyrics. Their music makes me want to grab a yummy drink and sit in the sunshine on my front porch with all my friends.. one of the best feelings, ever. I have always known that Joe was into local bands and we spoke about it often when he was younger; and it is truly amazing to watch God shape and mold the hearts of kids, to watch them follow their dreams and callings as they become men.

.. I won’t make you wait anymore, because I know you are as excited to learn about these awesome young men as I was!

Allow me to introduce.. The New Tribe

Phil: 24 – Lead Vocals and Guitar
I am told, “He has a mustache and is quite funny.” {love this} His musical influences are Switchfoot, Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Andrew Bird, Silversun Pickups, and Two Door Cinema Club.

Jared: 20 – Keys and Occasional Vocals
He is the “Baby” of the band and is almost done with college. Jared started dodgefees.com {how cool is that?!} and currently lives in downtown Seattle, “basically above pike place.” {How amazing would that be?!} And he delivers food for Postmates in his free time. Jared’s musical influences are Twenty One Pilots, The Rocket Summer, Fireworks, and Magic Man.

Pete: 23 – Lead Guitar and Vocal Harmonies
When I asked the guys for a little information about themselves, this is what Pete sent back, and I just don’t have the heart to change it.. It’s pretty perfect.
“I play keys, guitar, and sing. I used to be a professional clown. My family is wanted by the Irish Mafia. I can do the C-Walk and talk like Mickey Mouse. My middle name is Joshua. My first band was called, “The Merry Band of Travelers” – we did a talent show then broke up because one of our singers wanted to be like Casting Crowns and I wanted to be like Skillet.” His musical influences are Jack White, Walk The Moon, Surfjan Stevens, Jon Foreman, Relient K, and The Rocket Summer.

Joe: 23 – Bassist.
He is a big fan of long walks on the beach and his musical influences are Jon Foreman, Death Cab for Cutie, Hello Goodbye, and “about 5k more.”

Josh: 24 – Drummer.
He is apparently a man of few words.. and is musically influenced by The 1975, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift.

“The New Tribe met at Northwest University – Phil and I weren’t friends for the first year we knew each other. We would just pass by one another on campus. We’d both say, “Hey!” then he would say, “Pete, I think we should hang out. I feel like we could be friends.” And then I would say, “Yeah! I get that feeling too!” .. then we would walk off awkwardly and not hang out.” – Pete

I, for one, am glad they finally decided to get together.. the music these guys make is delicious! And we are so excited to be able to watch them from the beginning because these young men are going places, fast.

The New Tribe is about to head off on their first tour of Washington State. You can get all of the dates and info on their website here. On their website you can also listen to their new single, HUMANS – and I highly suggest you do, because it’s pretty awesome! ALSO – their YouTube is here. And make sure you ‘like’ their Facebook page, here!

Today I want to encourage you to follow your calling and chase your dreams with all you have. God gives us all a wonderful purpose to be a part of His amazing plan. And when you go in the direction He leads you, doors will open and He will bless your journey.

Guys of The New Tribe, we will be praying for your safety and success during this upcoming tour and we pray that God will bless all that you do. Good luck and have lots of fun!

Thank you lovelies. Jesus loves you!

Let me hear Your loving kindness in the morning; For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul.
